Terms of Use for PartyCorder – Party Recorder

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using PartyCorder you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PartyCorder on your personal device(s) for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these terms.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the app
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Use the app to record conversations without the consent of all parties where required by law

3. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • Obtaining consent from all persons whose voice may be recorded before using PartyCorder. Recording individuals without their knowledge or consent may be illegal in your jurisdiction.
  • The content of audio clips you save, share, or distribute.
  • Ensuring your use complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws.

PartyCorder is a tool. Misuse of any recording technology to harass, defame, or harm others is strictly prohibited and may violate criminal law.

4. Party Sessions

When you create a party session:

  • You act as the host and are responsible for who you share the join code or QR code with.
  • Guests you invite can trigger the REMEMBER function on your device. Only share access with people you trust.
  • Sessions expire automatically after 30 days. We do not guarantee availability or uptime of Firebase-dependent features.

5. Third-Party Services

PartyCorder integrates with:

  • Google Firebase — session sync (Google Terms of Service apply)
  • Sentry — crash reporting (Sentry Terms of Service apply)

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

PartyCorder is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The app will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Audio recordings will be captured or saved without loss
  • Firebase-dependent features will be available at all times

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of recordings or data
  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Damages arising from your violation of applicable recording consent laws

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

9. Changes to Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. Updated terms will be reflected in the app's release notes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
